a little about me . . .

I’m a Nebraska native, born and raised on a grain farm in the northeast corner of the state. I’ve got a bit of a wandering spirit that keeps calling me to the west, and I love to be outdoors in the sunshine. preferably around the water, some giant cottonwoods, open prairie hills, or some cool rocks.

In trying to figure out what I wanted to do with life, I seriously considered going to school for photography but decided through a series of events to get a business degree instead. I took an intro to photography elective my freshman year as an excuse to buy a camera, and have continued to pursue the craft ever since!

Other than photography, I have obsessions with interior design, history, architecture, natural health, and intentional living. You can often find me browsing Facebook marketplace, antique shops, or the local thrift store for cool finds.

My hubby and I met on my first day of college and we started dating three months after. We’ve been obsessed with each other ever since! There’s a quote somewhere that says the best relationships involve two people who think that they are getting the better end of the deal, and I couldn’t agree more. We’ve been together since November of 2012, got married in 2015, and still enjoy each others company every day. I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

We purchased a 1917 Craftsman house at the beginning of 2020, and have our hands full with repairs, projects, and a seemingly unending list of future plans. To list a few, gutting and remodeling the kitchen (our current project), bathroom updates, plumbing, SO much painting and plaster repair, and we’re also undertaking some major landscaping needs as well.

At the end of the day, Jesus is my rock. He is my hope and I find strength in Him every day. One of my favorite verses is Colossians 3:23 TPT where it says to “put your heart and soul into everything that you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others”. I hope more than anything to honor Him in this way, and through the way that I get to portray His people and creation.

I hope we get the chance to meet someday and talk about the things that mean the most to us.

love you already,
Lisa
